Robust Algorithms for Boundary-Element Integrals on Curved Surfaces

چکیده
This paper presents a new approach to computing 1=r singularities on curved panels. By using carefully chosen mapping techniques, a curved panel with curved edges is mapped to a at panel with straight edges. Analytical formulas for at panel integrals are then used to give approximate curved panel integration solution. For those curved panels with reasonably large curvatures and smooth edges, this method can eÆciently achieve excellent accuracy(10 % error).

A Boundary Elements and Particular Integrals Implementation for Thermoelastic Stress Analysis
A formulation and an implementation of two-dimensional Boundary Element Method (BEM) analysis for steady state, uncoupled thermoelastic problems is presented. This approach differs from other treatments of thermal loads in BEM analysis in which the domain integrals due to the thermal gradients are to be incorporated in the analysis via particular-integrals. Thus unlike Finite Elements or Field ...

This review paper gives a detailed account of the development of mesh generation techniques on planar regions, over curved surfaces and within volumes for the past years. Emphasis will be on the generation of the unstructured meshes for purpose of complex industrial applications and adaptive refinement finite element analysis. Over planar domains and on curved surfaces, triangular and quadrilat...
متن کاملAn efficient method for evaluating BEM singular integrals on curved elements with application in acoustic analysis
The polar coordinate transformation (PCT) method has been extensively used to treat various singular integrals in the boundary element method (BEM). However, the resultant integrands of the PCT tend to become nearly singular when (1) the aspect ratio of the element is large or (2) the field point is closed to the element boundary; thus a large number of quadrature points are needed to achieve a...
متن کاملImplementation of D3Q19 Lattice Boltzmann Method with a Curved Wall Boundary Condition for Simulation of Practical Flow Problems
In this paper, implementation of an extended form of a no-slip wall boundary condition is presented for the three-dimensional (3-D) lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) for solving the incompressible fluid flows with complex geometries. The boundary condition is based on the off-lattice scheme with a polynomial interpolation which is used to reconstruct the curved or irregular wall boundary on the ne...
متن کاملNumerical integration techniques for curved-element discretizations of molecule-solvent interfaces.
Surface formulations of biophysical modeling problems offer attractive theoretical and computational properties. Numerical simulations based on these formulations usually begin with discretization of the surface under consideration; often, the surface is curved, possessing complicated structure and possibly singularities. Numerical simulations commonly are based on approximate, rather than exac...
